The Center Opposes Colorado’s Personhood Initiative
Today, the Center released a statement opposing Colorado Amendment 62, which would amend the Colorado Constitution to define the word "person" to include "every human being from the beginning of the biological development of that human being." This proposed constitutional amendment will be on the Colorado ballot this November.>

Center for Reproductive Rights at the 2010 Global Maternal Health Conference
The Center will be participating in the Global Maternal Health Conference convened by the Maternal Health Task Force at EngenderHealth and the Public Health Foundation of India from August 30 – September 1 in Delhi, India. Approximately 500 maternal health experts from around the world will unite at the conference to share emerging research, recent successful interventions and advocacy, and new innovative strategies for addressing pregnancy-related mortality and morbidity.>

Associated Press: La. abortion clinics end ultrasound challenge
A group of abortion clinics dropped its challenge of a Louisiana abortion law that requires ultrasound exams for all women getting abortions, after working out an agreement with the state health department.Another portion of the lawsuit will continue, however, challenging a new state law that bars medical malpractice coverage for doctors who perform elective abortions, said Stephanie Toti, an attorney at the Center for Reproductive Rights, which filed the lawsuit for the clinics.
