Over the last week in Kigali, more than 100 experts from Rwanda and around the world met to examine best practice peace education. Throughout the three days of intense debate and discussion, participants heard from a wide variety of speakers who shared insights into what kind of peace education works well and how we can measure our impact on individual and societal change.

On January 27th, President Trump signed an Executive Order suspending all refugee admission for 120 days, banning all Syrian refugees indefinitely, and barring entry to all citizens of seven countries with Muslim majorities from which high numbers of refugees are fleeing.

Rwandans Researching Rwanda: Social Science Perspectives on Post-Genocide Challenges .

The conference will showcase the work of 10 Rwandan researchers who over the last 18 months have taken part in the Aegis Trust Research, Policy and Higher Education (RPHE) programme, funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID). The programme, which provides small research grants and expert advice and training to researchers, is designed to bolster the Rwandan research community and to increase its voice in international academic debates and domestic policymaking. A second cohort of authors is currently working on a new set of projects which will be showcased at a similar conference in 2017.
